![]() ![]() With Starfield being the center of the Xbox 2023 Showcase last week, Bethesda gave us a deep dive into one of the biggest games this generation. Is it ok to shout "Believe it!" right now? No? Alright. Be sure to check out this awesome monster of an interivew, and keep looking to IGN.com for more exclusive Naruto action. We had a chance to sit down and chat with the living stars of the show to talk about the Naruto anime, Clash of Ninja, and the rabid fan-base it enables. Could a little Naruto swag be on the way for a few lucky IGN readers? It's very possible! But wait, there's more! As we were busying ourselves with tasty chicken and four player mayhem, Naruto voice actors Tara Platt (voice of Temari), and Yuri Lowenthal (voice of Sasuke) crashed the party. Jealous yet? That's alright, as our good friend Kirk Green (responsible for making sure IGN can give you all the first look at Naruto media, builds, and info) eluded at the possibility of a fan contest in the near future. The bag-o-goodies really is impressive, as it includes a Naruto laptop bag, keychain, shoulder bag (which is huge as well), collectable mini-tins, Volume 1 of the TV show, trading cards and a leaf headband (which is by far the most popular piece of swag at this year's show… seriously). Life is hilariously cruel… We check out some of our sweet swag back at the hotel. Not in the sense that you'll be getting any of the kick-ass swag… just meaning you can look at all the cool stuff that we get and you don't. The collection was so impressive, we just had to share it with all of you. To top the evening off, D3 also treated members of the press to one of the best swag-bags we've seen in a long time. The Red Pearl restaurant was also topped off with volumes of the Naruto manga, so we had a chance to catch up on a little reading while waiting our turn to kick some ninja butt. The character-swapping ability has been added to an otherwise simple beat-em-up adventure game, speckled with new technical additions like swinging platforms and parallax presentation for backgrounds. On the GBA side of things, Naruto: Ninja Council 2 held up pretty well for being an Americanized version of a four year old game, but was a bit on the basic side. two fights, and even a few deadly 3-on-1 bouts. ![]() During the event we had a chance to sharpen our skills once again in free-for-all battles, two vs. For those not familiar with the game, Clash of Ninja 2 allows for four-player simultaneous action, and there are a ton of options to go with it. Since we've had a chance to go hands-on with Naruto 2 once before, the IGN crew already had a healthy advantage over the other contenders, and needless to say, we made quick work of them. Well there were, and they were pretty fun too. Wait… did we mention there were games there? Whoever thought tasting stuff would be so good? But enough about amazing chicken wings that taste so sweet as to be called the nectar of the gods, we've got gameplay to get to. Even though the combination of GameCube controllers and glazed wings is often frowned upon at " La Casa de Casamassina", publisher D3 had no fear, and for that reason, the party rocked. Aside from top-tier grub and restaurant-exclusive "Naruto Cocktail", we had the chance to go hands-on with Clash of Ninja 2 in some serious four-player competition, as well as run through practically all of Ninja Council 2. The party took place at local hotspot "The Red Pearl," which offered not only an awesome atmosphere, but some of the best teriyaki chicken wings we've ever had (what can we say… they rocked). Since all work and no play makes IGN a fussy baby, we decided to head over to the "Naruto Preview Party", which showcased Clash of Ninja 2 (GCN), Naruto: Ninja Council 2 (GBA), and a crap-load of awesome Japanese cuisine. If not for anything else, Comic-Con can be counted on for two things: Sweaty nerds and rockin' parties. ![]()
